Methadone: Methadone Detox Clinics

Question: I am starting a detox off methadone soon?

I am currently taking 330mg daily by form of liqiud!I have not been able to find work and have no money to keep taking it so they are going to drop me by 10mg daily until I am at o! I really want to get off it I only took it to get off heroin and I have not used for 4 months now.I believe alot of it is mental but I am sore when I dont take my dose on my scheduled time.Is that a safe way to detox?I am scared!ITs funny I wasnt scared to shoot up a street drug but am terrified of this

Congrats dude, well done, getting off the bad stuff to the methadone was a big step and this is a smaller one. Take it easy and slow, you can do this, it won't be too bad to reduce it slowly, you've made it this far, keep going and you'll make it the rest of the way. I don't know you, and I never even heard of you before two minutes ago but I feel proud for you and what you've done. That's great.

You are getting what is referred to as an administrative detox. It is not intended to support your sobriety or methadone program recovery; it is a punitive action taken by MMT clinics when a client fails drug tests, misses appts., or doesn’t pay their bill. Administrative detoxes are typically done at a rate of 10mg per day- an incredibly hard way to detox, but not life threatening, so unfortunately, allowable.
